Print Merit Competition – Judge Paul O’Toole
We were very pleased to welcome our judge for the evening, Paul O’Toole. Paul used to be a member of Worthing Camera Club and is still listed as such on the PAGB Judges database. Paul is a member of Littlehampton Camera Club now (so he can play darts on a Tuesday) and an accredited Southern Photographic Federation Judge.
As this was a Merit competition the images were submitted under three categories of photographer – Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced. We had a total of 32 Prints entered (5 in the Beginners’ class; 15 in the Intermediate Class; and 12 in the Advanced Class. The standard of entries was excellent and provided a good challenge for Paul to critique and score. Paul discussed every image in detail and gave hints and tips throughout the evening.
Following the judging in each class Paul selected the Class winner. The three class winners went forward for the ‘Best in Competition’, which went to Kevin Hobbs for his image “Personal Space”.
Note: Following a request from a couple of members all of the images entered can be viewed from the links at the bottom of the page.
The winners from each group category were:
Beginners – Gemma Bullen “Tranquility”;
Intermediate – Kevin Hobbs “Personal Space”; and
Advanced – Mirza Khurrum Baig “Peaceful”
