What do we offer?
We offer speakers, workshops and competition to increase knowledge and understanding. Constructive feedback on images is given via internal competitions and access to experienced members.
Is it expensive to join?
We are a not-for-profit group, fees are set to meet our budgeted expenses (Hall hire, etc), so we think it is exceptional value. The membership fee is a one off payment which is reviewed annually. It is also halved if you’re joining after 1 January during a season. The season runs from September to April.
Do I need an expensive camera?
NO. If you want to make images, a Smartphone is sufficient. But our members can offer advice on photographic purchases, which could save you money too.
How do I join?
For new joiners why not come along for an evening or an outing and “try us out”. Then, when you’re ready, complete the Membership form here.
Guest speakers: Guest speakers talk on a wide range of photographic genres and topics and are prepared to impart their knowledge for the benefit of members.
Practical evenings: Members from the club run practical evenings, (for example digital editing, portraiture).
Outings: Club meet-ups are arranged and well attended throughout the year, including the off-season (May to September). These are generally at a local photographic venue, including local landmarks, tourist attractions and other venues. These are of an informal nature and always full of enjoyment.
Club competitions: Members may enter into all club competitions and may also be included in external competitions.
Exhibitions: Worthing Camera Club may be involved in exhibitions throughout the year. This is a chance for you to show your work to a wider audience and from personal experience our exhibition material is well received by the general public.
Forums: Members can get involved with the club in our Facebook Group. They may also post their images on the Worthing Camera Club Flickr Group. Click on the links below to take you there;
Communications: Groups.io is our internal club communications system and its purpose is to enable registered members to receive all the latest club information and announcements. Once enrolled in the club you will receive an email invitation to join. If you have difficulties joining Groups.io then please send a message via the ‘Contact’ page or speak to a committee member on a club evening.
Above all, the chance to meet up and socialise with fellow photographers in a friendly environment and pleasant atmosphere. (It’s also a very good opportunity to pick up advice, inspiration, and experience.)
