Our outing this time was to Shoreham-by-Sea.

Whilst it was a cold start the weather played its part and was fine throughout the walk. St Mary’s was quiet and provided a few photographic opportunities. We walked from there to the Ropetackle and then north along the river, arriving at the Shoreham Airshow Memorial. From there we visited the church of St Nicholas and it cemetery. Whilst it was relatively quiet outside, inside there was a cake sale. So being community minded a number of us made a donation in exchange for a slice of cake.

Having had a short break we returned to the river and crossed the old Toll Bridge. From here we returned south along the west bank (airport side). Here we became strung out and the front group kept to the river, but the rear group followed the route, via the Dogs Trust and onto the house boats. Where we regrouped with those remaining members who had kept to the river. From here a short walk along, by the houseboats, back to the start.
