An interesting evening, by John Gauvin of Steyning Camera Club, on image processing drew a lot of questions and discussion about getting the basics of image preparation right for both PDI and Print competitions. John discussed techniques in Photoshop although other processing software will do the same. He showed steps which can make an image much better than when it came out of the camera and also showed us some pitfalls which can spoil the image if adjustments are over-done. Although the presentation concentrated on basic image processing, I think we all learned a few tips to help us improve our competition images.
