Rajinder presented an introduction to the art of portrait photography using studio flash.

He started by demonstrating the importance of the correct lighting and how to achieve better portraits by moving the model’s position in relation to the background and making sure the flash power and camera settings gave the desired result. Rajinder made a comprehensive presentation about the set up and equipment required and emphasised how important it was to achieve a result which was right for the photographer, because each person has their own preferences.

Then anyone who wanted to “have a go” got the opportunity to use the studio equipment. From the results on our Facebook page it was well received and many members had an opportunity to take studio portraits.
