23rd November – Creative Flower Photography – Colin Harrison
We had great pleasure in welcoming Colin Harrison to our club this evening. Colin became interested in photography as a teenager using a camera to capture disappearing steam locomotives around the world including East Germany, Turkey, India and South Africa. 10 years later in 1980 his photographic style produced more creative and pictorial images and he started entering National and International Photographic Exhibitions. He joined the RPS and eventually gained his Fellowship of the Royal Photographic Society in 1993.
Colin’s presentation was a fascinating insight into the world of flower photography, and developing the images to create beautiful works of art. He provided very comprehensive notes, explaining the techniques and equipment used, some of which are everyday items in the home. His topics include fine art photography, close ups, still life, framing images, macro photography and much more.
Members’ feedback has shown it was an excellent and inspiring talk, and we are all very grateful to Colin in sharing his extensive knowledge and skills in photography and post processing techniques. Some members have already been trying his methods for themselves with some amazing results.
We look forward to seeing Colin again in the future to help us on our photographic journey, and to try something new and inspiring.
