Self-Appraisal Workshop
Ken Scott led an engaging workshop introducing Worthing Camera Club members to the principles of peer appraisal. Using an informative presentation, Ken explained how constructive feedback can help photographers develop their skills and artistic vision, with the emphasis on coaching rather than judging.
Members explored the importance of giving honest, balanced and encouraging feedback, while respecting each photographer’s individual style and creative intentions. The session highlighted the value of asking questions, listening carefully and understanding what the photographer hoped to achieve with their image.
Putting these ideas into practice, members then appraised each other’s photographs, sharing observations, discussing creative choices and offering suggestions in a supportive and friendly environment.
The workshop proved a great success, encouraging lively discussion and demonstrating how peer appraisal can help everyone learn from one another, build confidence and develop as photographers.
