Yesterday we held or 3rd PDI Merit Competition of the season, with members competing within their respective groups: Beginners; Intermediate; and Advanced. Once again, it was great to see such strong participation across the club, demonstrating a wide variety of skills, subjects and genres.
We received an impressive 74 entries:
- Beginners: 17 images
- Intermediate: 27 images
- Advanced: 30 images
Our judge for the evening was Carol Walker of Isle of Wight photographic society, who brought both expertise and care to the role. Carol gave detailed and constructive feedback on every image, addressing many compositional techniques. Her insights were appreciated by all members and provide a valuable learning opportunities for all, across all levels. We extend our sincere thanks to Carol for her time, thoughtful critique, and support of our club.
After reviewing each class, Carol selected a winner for each group:
- Beginner: Peter Horsfield – “Lost in the Mist”
- Intermediate: Russell Field – “Broad Bodied Chaser”
- Advanced: Mirza Khurrum Baig – “Growing Glass”
From these individual class winners, Carol then selected the Overall Winner of the night: Peter Horsfield, with “Lost in the Mist”. Congratulations to all of the Winners, and to everyone who submitted work.
