This Tuesday we held our second Print Merit Competition of the season, with members competing within their respective groups: Beginners; Intermediate; and Advanced. It was fantastic to see such strong participation across the club, reflecting both enthusiasm and growing confidence in print work.
We received an impressive 51 entries in total:
- Beginners: 6 prints
- Intermediate: 19 prints
- Advanced: 26 prints
Our judge for the evening was Pietro Rocchiccioli BA Hons (Photo) DPAGB EFIAP/s, who brought both expertise and care to the role. Pietro offered detailed, constructive feedback on every print, addressing composition, tonal control and print quality. His insights are always appreciated and provide invaluable learning opportunities for members at all levels. We extend our sincere thanks to Pietro for his time, thoughtful critique, and support of our club.
After reviewing each class, Pietro selected a winner for each group:
- Beginner: David Parkinson – “National Museum of Scotland”
- Intermediate: David Roll – “Vivid in the Gloom”
- Advanced: Mirza Khurrum Baig – “Ghosts of Iron”
From these class winners, Pietro then chose the Overall Winner of the night: Mirza Khurrum Baig, with “Ghosts of Iron”. Second place went to David Roll, and third place to David Parkinson. Congratulations to all three, and to everyone who submitted work.
