![]() A practical workshop exploring Chiaroscuro (an Italian term which translates as light-dark, and refers to the balance and pattern of light and shade). Specifically we will be exploring "Tenebrism" ('dark, gloomy, mysterious'), also occasionally called "dramatic illumination". The Tenebrism form of Chiascuro is generally credited to Caravaggio, although this technique was used by earlier artists. |
