It’s also a great chance to revisit the fundamentals and spark some fresh “back-to-basics” creativity. \n\n\nInside the Judge’s Mind: Ever wondered what a judge is actually looking for? We’ll discuss how critiques work\, so that entering a competition is constructive and not a scary experience. \n\n\nThe best part? Whether you use a Smartphone or a high-end camera with interchangeable lenses\, the principles of a great photo are exactly the same. \nWorkshops are collaborative events\, so get ready to challenge and share your experience too.

DESCRIPTION:What truly defines a town? Is it the architecture or the people who walk its streets? In this talk\, local photographer Paul David Kemp shares his ongoing project “A Portrait of Worthing”. Documenting the “intricate tapestry” of our town. \nDrawing inspiration from the great humanist traditions of Walker Evans and the Mass Observation Project\, Paul uses both analogue and digital photography to unveil the layers of Worthing’s history\, culture\, and contemporary challenges. For Paul\, this project is more than just documentation; it is a personal search for belonging. By retracing generational roots that stretch back to the 1940s\, he uses his lens to bridge the gap between his family’s past and his new home. \nJoin us to see how Paul shines a light on the subtle nuances of our town\, turning the ordinary into the extraordinary. \nNon-members are welcome to join us.
