SUMMARY:Outing: Hotham Park\, Bognor Regis
DESCRIPTION:A relaxed photowalk through Hotham Park\, one of Bognor Regis’s most photogenic locations. The park offers a diverse range of subjects\, from historic architecture to natural landscapes and detailed close-up opportunities. \nOur walk will include the elegant Hotham Park House\, built in 1792 by Sir Richard Hotham\, where the distinctive clock tower provides excellent opportunities for architectural studies\, silhouettes\, and creative framing through the surrounding trees. Throughout the grounds\, the impressive wooden carvings of Alice in Wonderland characters offer engaging subjects for portrait-style compositions\, selective focus techniques\, and candid images of visitors interacting with the sculptures. \nThe park’s boating lake can provide beautiful reflections of the sky and surrounding trees\, particularly in calm conditions or after rainfall\, making it an ideal setting for landscape photography. We will also explore the restored Mediterranean and Tropical Gardens\, home to a wide variety of specimen trees and seasonal flowers\, offering plenty of opportunities for close-up\, macro\, and nature photography. \nSuitable for photographers of all abilities\, this photowalk encourages participants to experiment with composition\, light\, reflections\, architectural detail\, and creative close-up techniques in a varied and attractive park setting.

DESCRIPTION:A renowned local beauty spot near Shoreham-by-Sea\, one of Sussex’s most spectacular chalk grassland habitats. The reserve offers panoramic views across the Adur Valley and Shoreham. It is particularly well known for its butterfly population\, with more than half of Britain’s butterfly species recorded there\, including the beautiful Adonis Blue and Chalkhill Blue. We will have many photographic opportunities: macro photography; landscapes; and capture the rich variety of wildflowers and birdlife that make this site so special.

DESCRIPTION:The Brighton Architecture Walk — a journey through one of Britain’s most visually fascinating seaside cities. Beginning at the great Victorian Brighton Railway Station and finishing beside the elegant Regency terraces of Regency Square\, this walk has been designed especially with photographers in mind. \nAlong the way we will explore the extraordinary contrasts that make Brighton such a rewarding place to photograph: from the colourful creativity of the North Laine and the narrow twittens of The Lanes to the dramatic domes and minarets of the Royal Pavilion. We will encounter Regency elegance\, Victorian grandeur\, hidden architectural details\, textured bungaroosh walls\, ornate theatres\, religious buildings\, seaside engineering and constantly changing coastal light. \nThere will be opportunities to capture: \n\nsweeping Regency terraces and sea views\,\nreflections\, textures and street scenes\,\nvibrant shopfronts and urban colour\,\narchitectural details and decorative ironwork\,\nwide panoramic compositions along the seafront\,\nand the unique mixture of grandeur and eccentricity that defines Brighton.\n\nThe walk also tells the remarkable story of how a struggling fishing village transformed into one of Europe’s most fashionable seaside resorts through royal patronage\, architecture\, entertainment and tourism. \nWhether your interest is architecture\, documentary photography\, street photography or simply observing the character of the city\, Brighton offers visual interest at almost every turn.

DESCRIPTION:Bosham harbour is nestled on the shores of Chichester Harbour and offers a perfect setting for a relaxed outing. With its charming tidal waterfront\, historic cottages\, and sweeping coastal views. \nThe village is steeped in history\, most notably through the beautiful Holy Trinity Church\, parts of which date back over a thousand years and are thought to be depicted in the Bayeux Tapestry. High tide will be at 10:52 and brings the water right up to the edge of the village\, creating striking photographic opportunities. \nMembers are encouraged to explore the quay\, wander the narrow lanes\, and take in views across the harbour toward Chichester Harbour.
