Speaker – My Adopted Family (Jo Teasdale FRPS)

9 January 2024 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Jo Teasdale comes from a Fine Art background and worked in the arts for many years. Since moving to Brighton she took up photography and hasn’t looked back. Having won Landscape Photographer of the Year – 2014 (www.lpoty.co.uk/gallery/2014/living-the-view), she has gone on to win various competitions, been published in books and has had work shown at various exhibitions.

Jo is an eclectic photographer who celebrates the realness of life through documentary and street photography. In her project work she shows a slower more conceptual approach emanating from her fine art background.  Her work is an artistic form of self-expression, poignant and edgy, often unveiling elements of our human nature. ‘My Adopted Family’ is her latest major body of work, since being awarded her Fellowship from the Royal Photographic Society in 2016 for her portfolio entitled ‘The Factory’.

The first half of her talk Jo covers her photography journey and the second half is her last project “My Adopted Family”.
