Colin Howard presenting the new Ronald Cain Trophy to Graham Morrey
Worthing Camera Club hosted a prestigious new award, The Ronald Cain Trophy on March 14th, dedicated to an old member, who has recently passed away. His nephew Colin Howard, has kindly donated this new trophy to our club and travelled down from Norfolk to judge the competition. The theme for this was’ In and Around Worthing’ and it was wonderful to celebrate our home town with such glorious digital images.
The winner of the salver was Graham Morrey, who’s picture showed a family by the pier enjoying the beach and Colin thought this showed Worthing at its best.
Ronald Cain lived in Goring and was a very keen photographer and his nephew, who has written and compiled several books already, is planning to compile a book of Ronald’s old photographs of Worthing, which will be a lovely record of our town.
His nephew Colin had no idea that his uncle was such a keen photographer and was delighted to find his collections at his home when he went to clear out his house. He now feels that photograph must be in his blood as he is a published photographer himself.
