Benefits of Membership
Guest speakers: Guest speakers talk on various aspects of photography with a presentation of digital images and prints. Speakers are usually expert photographers who are prepared to impart their knowledge for the benefit of members. Occasionally speakers will give demonstrations of photographic methods and techniques, both digital and traditional.
Practical evenings: Occasionally members from the club will run practical evenings, which include the set up of the portrait studio, soft boxes, close-up flower photography, mount cutting, digital image processing and other activities.
Forums: Members can get involved with the club in our Facebook Group. They may also post their images on the Worthing Camera Club Flickr Group and the Worthing Creative Photography Flickr Group. Click on any of the live links below to take you there;
Communications: Groups.io is our internal club communications system and its purpose is to enable registered members to receive all the latest club information and announcements. Once enrolled in the club you will receive an email invitation to join. If you have difficulties joining Groups.io then please send a message via the ‘Contact’ page or speak to a committee member on a club evening.
Summer Outings Club meet-ups are arranged and well attended during the off season (May to September). These are generally at a local photographic venue, including local landmarks, tourist attractions and other venues. These are of an informal nature and always full of enjoyment. Tuition and support is available if required.
Websites and Image Hosting: As a member, we can provide a link to your image hosting site, such as FlickR, or to your website for others to access your work.
Screen Calibrator: The club also has a screen calibrator which can calibrate your computer screen to the right settings (deposit required).
Mount Cutter: The club has a cutter available for those who want to mount their own prints (deposit required).
Club competitions: Members may enter into all club competitions and may also be included in external competitions such as the Sussex Photographic Federation.
Exhibitions: Worthing Camera Club get involved in a few exhibitions during the year. This is a chance for you to show your work to a wider audience and from personal experience our exhibition material is well received by the general public.
Above all, the chance to meet up and socialise with fellow photographers in a friendly environment and pleasant atmosphere. (It’s also a very good opportunity to pick up advice, inspiration, and experience.)
